The “administration” appointed by Russia in the annexed part of the Kharkiv region has urged residents to temporarily leave the region “until favorable living conditions are established.”
According to the “authorities,” this recommendation is being made “in connection with the increasing shelling from the side of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and with the aim of avoiding casualties among the civilian population.”
In the event of evacuation, local residents have been promised “all necessary assistance and support in subsequent resettlement.”
In March 2023, Vitaly Ganchev, the “head” appointed by Russia in the occupied part of the Kharkiv region, stated that 29 settlements in the region with a population of about three thousand people were under the control of Russian military.
